The Family Stone (2005)

Hey wow! an actual movie, at the theater, with a grown up, my husband even!!! Okay, so even with all the neck pain I am having, I couldn't resist the chance to finally get out to see a grown up movie. We went to see The Family Stone, and again, without giving too much away, it was much, much sadder than I thought. By the time the movie was over, I had cried several times. Another bad experience with the audience as well. Talkers in front of us, two elderly women who clearly should have rented this a few months down the road...just would not shut up!!!! Then they had the nerve to tell the guy behind them (in our row of course...as this was amateur hour again apparantly) whose phone had gone off, and he chose to answer it....out loud....the little grey haired lady says, in her not so quiet voice "shut the fucking phone off"....so Bubs loudly says, "its not as bad as talking through the whole movie" I think little old lady has no clue that he was talking to her, because they went on to finish their conversation throughout the movie. I don't understand why people like that need to see movies at the theater. If I spend that much money to watch something, I am going to be quiet and watch it, if I want to have a conversation with my friend...um...I go to a fricken restaurant, or I rent the movie later on. Its a waste of money to have to sit through a movie with people babbling the whole time. If I had wanted a ton of noise, I would have tried to watch something before the kids go to bed. Give me a break.
Oh, the movie was great by the way...I thought it was full of rich, interesting characters, and a fantastic screenplay!
