Off The Map (2003)
I have been looking at this one for awhile at the library, and kept on passing it by. I have a love/hate relationship with Joan Allen, so I resist seeing her movies until someone forces me to. This time, I just finally decided it was worth a shot when I noticed that Campbell Scott directed it. I like him more than I don't like her, so I checked it out. Wow. I loved it. I loved everything about it. It was quiet and sweet. The little girl was incredible, and actually so was Joan Allen. I loved the quirkiness of the characters. I loved the pull of this interesting family to the outsider, the IRS guy that comes out to the desert to find them. I found myself wanting more long after this movie was over. Totally worth renting.
