My Girlfriend's Boyfriend (2010)

I am not really sure what I thought about this. I feel like I wrote this recently about another movie, but I can't remember which one.  This seemed like the perfect solution for a no-brainer romantic comedy kind of night.  Alyssa Milano plays an adorable unlucky in love girl who meets Ethan, a sweet writer  in need of inspiration (played by the absolutely adorable Christopher Gorham) and them meets the charming and dashing Troy (played by Michael Landes).  She begins dating both guys and that part slowed the movie down a bit for me but WAIT...there is a twist that I won't tell you about in case you actually bother to watch this (it is available on Instant Netflix)  When the storyline twisted...I really thought I hated the movie.  I liked it because of its cheesy predictable storyline.  I even liked how unbelievably wholesome it was.  However, I wasn't sure I liked how it ended.  Usually I like a movie that surprises you, but when you are expecting the basic run of the mill Lifetime movie of the week kind of romantic comedy and you get something a little more creative.  It throws you!  After thinking it over I still liked the movie and would maybe even watch it again just to see if I feel differently the second time around.  Alyssa Milano is cute, I have always liked her and this performance, though subtle, was nice.  But my favorite part of the movie was her brother played by Tom Lenk.  I become more in love with him every time I see him in something.  He is quirky and interesting, and I really enjoyed his small part in this.  Even if I would have hated the rest of the movie, he would have made it worthwhile.  This is nothing special, but if you are in the mood for a sweet, nice, mildly amusing romantic comedy (with a twist) this might be your flick!
